Reflecting Text

goodies/extras

This tutorial was created using Photoshop Elements 5.0

1. For this tutorial we will be using 3D Text. (Of course you don't have to) If you don't know how to make 3D Text, click here and come back to this tutorial.
2. Open up a new 600x480 white document on Photoshop. (CTRL + N) and fill it with color #797979
3. If you haven't already, create the text you would like reflected on a different document. Once you have, copy and paste or drag the text layer onto your new grey layer.
4.Once done, go back to the text layer on the other document from where you dragged the text layer onto your new grey layer.
5.Press Image > Rotate > Flip Vertical and drag/copy and paste this new flipped text layer on top of the grey document. You should have both the upright version and flipped version of the text on the grey document.
6. Now position the two layers like so:

7. Now set the flipped text layer to Lighten and set the Opacity to 23%
8. Note that you can also do this effect with pictures
9. This is my finished product (I cropped it so it wouldn't be too big) :
